𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 Part 8

Things were rusty and it made me feel down. I started to accept that I might not ever be able to ride this horse again. Though I knew I had bought a projecthorse, I felt like a failure that things weren't working out the way I wanted to. The opposites were huge. While Nikki was thriving, Pura was just 'so so'.

I started lunging her again without the chambon and she was better than before, but still wouldn't fully release the topline. By my trainer I was added to the Art2ride Fans & Followers group on Facebook where I found such a lovely community. Everyone was so kind and supportive towards each others journey. This was new to me. I just knew the hate, the b*tching and endless comments which were more to put you down than to help you thrive.

I started posting my journey there and learned a lot about the horse and different back problems. Also the influence of saddlefit on the back of the horse and the quality of movement was repeatedly a topic. I received a lot of tips & tricks but the biggest one was 'start doing the work in hand first'.

Really? Another step back. By then I was 'already' 1,5 years in the journey with her. I started to feel a little like giving up..

To be continued..

The psychologica impact of kissing spines on the horse..
