We kept on progressing!
After spending a few weeks doing the work in hand, I started introducing the lunging again. Without a chambon and sidereins. Just to see if we could bring some of that relaxation into the trot. You can see she is still not completely relaxing and stretching the topline, but this was already so much better compared to how we started.
The first time I lunged her she could only throw herself inward or bolt off. There wasn't much in between that or that looked like anything constructive. During the 6 months of lunging we had already done she stayed tense. And now only about 50% of that tensity was left. This was serious progress!
One of the biggest changes is that she started to relax her underneck and wasn't bracing into the contact so much anymore.
